Night light, Knight light. I was surprised to see that the internet did not yet have this punny product. The duty was thus left to me to bring the knight light into the world.

While in grad school, I sketched & prototyped many knight designs:

• The eyes

• helmet shape

• items in hands

• roundness

Eventually I gravitating to the little spear-man.

Making

I then sampled a dozen of the market’s best night-lights to find a suitable warmly glowing, fully featured light base.

After dialing in our home 3D printer, the knight lights were ready for a quest. I printed out the light covers with plant-based PLA filament in our living room.

On the Market & Open Sourced

The design for the night light is free and open for anyone to print their own. I also included details on ordering the base light.

However, if anyone would like to skip that step, I am also happy to do the ground work of a small price.

Either way, this small but determined guardian will give a soft warm glow whenever someone is moving about, keeping your home safe from stubbed toes.
